Silicone Mold and Urethane Casting
Purpose: create a flexible tooling to cast multiple functional legos

Selected a lego and cut 3d printer filament to 3/4" to act as sprues
Sprues were super glued onto the four outer corners and 3 center circles of the lego.
The silicone mold was made using a two component silicone RTV. The two component mixture was a ratio of 100 to 10 of the silicone base and catalyst by weight. Once combined the mixture was placed in a vacuum chamber for 3 minutes and then poured into the mold container.

Once put together the lego submerged in the silicone mixture was placed in a pressure pot over night to cure.

Urethane injected into silicone mold through sprue holes.
